Board of Trustees - Carolina Preparatory Academy

Carolina Preparatory Academy’s Board of Trustees is a self-perpetuating body consisting of parents, grandparents, alumni, and community members.

Meeting approximately six times a year, the Board is the guardian of the school’s mission, a responsible steward of the school’s resources, and the entity held accountable for the school’s financial stability. The Board works closely with the Head of School, delegating responsibility for day-to-day management to the Head and the school's senior leadership, and contributing vision and guidance to ensure the school’s long-term success.

Chris Bobby, Board Chair

Chris Bobby, Board Chair

Chris Bobby is a tax, general corporate, and M&A attorney and partner at Manning, Fulton & Skinner, P.A., a full service mid-market law firm with offices in Durham and Raleigh, North Carolina. Chris advises clients on a wide range of federal income tax planning and corporate matters, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and reorganizations, partnership transactions, financings and private equity transactions. Prior to Manning Fulton, Chris was a tax associate at the Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP.

Chris received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School. Prior to law school, Chris participated in the Teach for America program and served as a school administrator and teacher for KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate. While at KIPP, Chris oversaw the development and implementation of a school-wide disciplinary system. He also participated in the Teach for America program and partnered with Teach for America Massachusetts to help coach and develop teachers during a summer school-based training program.

Outside of work, Chris and his wife are proud parents to two MSR students (as well as their bernedoodle, Toaster). In his free time, Chris enjoys pickleball, golf, attempting to cook various types of ethnic food, and collecting eclectic spirits as well as aged wine and cigars.

Christina Vanecek, Vice Chair

Christina Vanecek, Vice Chair

Christina Vanecek is the Global Head of Marketing at Sagility, a healthcare technology and services company, where she leads global brand, go-to-market strategy, demand generation, digital marketing, and market engagement. With more than 20 years of experience across healthcare, technology, and professional services, Christina specializes in building brands, modernizing go-to-market organizations, applying AI to marketing and business strategy, and translating complex ideas into compelling stories that drive growth. Prior to Sagility, she held marketing leadership roles at Gainwell Technologies, Accenture, and PwC.

Christina earned her B.S. in Marketing from George Mason University and has continued her executive education in artificial intelligence and behavioral economics through the University of Maryland and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Christina is a current MSR parent. She is particularly interested in bringing her experience in marketing, brand strategy, communications, technology, AI, and organizational transformation to support the school and fellow Board members.

Outside of work and MSR, Christina is a mom to two daughters and an enthusiastic animal person whose household also includes her dogs Poppy and Olive, and Waffles the cat. She is endlessly curious about how people make decisions, why organizations resist change, and how technology can make both work and life a little better.

Matt Baldwin, Treasurer

Matt Baldwin, Treasurer

Matt Baldwin is a Raleigh native and NC State graduate. He is the owner/operator of a custom homebuilding company, MBHomes. He also has experience in residential and commercial land development, and owns a real estate agency used exclusively for the company’s transactions.

Matt and his wife, Megan, have five children–three are current MSR students, and two are Carolina Prep students. The Baldwin family is proud to have over a decade of partnership with the MSR & Carolina Prep community.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys boating, golf, spending time with his family, and just about anything involving building, fixing, and figuring out how something works.

Pashuan Reed, Secretary

Pashuan Reed, Secretary

Pashuan Armond Reed is a business and community leader with experience spanning higher education, finance, healthcare operations, real estate, and nonprofit service. She previously served as a Campus Director in higher education and as an adjunct professor, bringing experience in educational leadership, strategic planning, organizational operations, and student success.

Pashuan is the Owner and Broker of Pashuan4Homes Realty, where her work encompasses residential and commercial real estate, property management, and real estate development. She also works in healthcare operations, supporting strategic initiatives, process improvement, and cross-functional projects.

Her board and community leadership experience includes more than a decade of service on her homeowners association board, including terms as President and Treasurer, as well as leadership and service through professional and community organizations. She currently serves as Foundation Chair, for the East Wake-Johnston Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. She is also a graduate of the Triangle REALTORS® Leadership Academy and has served on the MSR & Carolina Prep Head’s Advisory Council since 2024.

Pashuan holds bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Finance, an MBA with concentration in Finance, and has Master’s in Commercial Real Estate. She is passionate about education, responsible stewardship, community engagement, and creating opportunities that strengthen organizations and the communities they serve.

Pashuan is the proud mother of a current MSR elementary student. Her family's experience at MSR has given her a deep appreciation for the School's mission, community, and commitment to developing independent and engaged learners.

Outside of her professional and community commitments, Pashuan enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and arts and crafts.

Viraj Doshi '08

Viraj Doshi '08

Viraj Doshi ’08 works at Google on issues related to technology, trust, safety, and the broader information ecosystem. He began his career in the tech industry at Meta, where he led initiatives focused on youth well-being, content governance, and global outreach for Meta’s Oversight Board. Most recently, he served as Platform Safety Lead at Snap Inc., where he focused on the safety and digital well-being of Snapchat’s community, particularly teens and younger users.

Before joining tech, he lived and worked in Washington, D.C., Mumbai, and New Delhi, consulting for political, advocacy, and corporate organizations on grassroots and digital campaigns. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and later spent a year in Colombia as a Fulbright scholar, researching the relationship between education and civic participation.

Viraj grew up in Raleigh and attended MSR from kindergarten through eighth grade. Both of his sisters also attended MSR, making the school an important part of his family’s connection to Raleigh. He currently lives in New York City. He is a fan of basketball and burritos and has a problematic sweet tooth.

Paul Erunse

Paul Erunse

Paul Erunse is SVP, Global Head of Business Controls, Global Technology & Operations at MetLife. He leads risk management across technology, cybersecurity, data, AI, operations, and vendor/third-party risk. He also serves as MetLife's NC Site Executive, overseeing a 3,000-person Global Technology Hub and leading community/government relations across the Triangle & NC.

Paul has also led global HR transformation, HR operations, and payroll functions; directed technology and operations deployments across Investments, Finance, and Sales & Marketing at global financial services firms based in New York.

Paul has taken part in the Directors & Chief Risk Officers Institute, and holds Technology Risk Governance and Cyber Risk Governance certifications. He serves on the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce as a board member on the Executive Committee and serves as the Vice Vice Chair of Economic Development. He’s also a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Raleigh Chamber Foundation.

Paul enjoys global travel, food, gardening, basketball, soccer, live music, and theater. He and his family are new to NC (2023) and are still exploring all there is to experience across the southeast.

Dr. Jane Gagliardi

Dr. Jane Gagliardi

Jane Gagliardi MD, MHS is a physician in internal medicine and psychiatry who practices at Duke University Hospital. She also is professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences and professor of medicine at Duke University School of Medicine, where she serves as Associate Dean for the Learning Environment and Well-Being, working to centralize services to support students' health, accessibility, learning support, community and culture for the 1,200 health professions students in the School of Medicine at Duke. She also serves as Associate Director for the University of California, Irvine-based "Train New Trainers Primary Care Fellowships," a set of yearlong active learning programs for clinicians in practice who are seeking additional training to better recognize, diagnose and treat their patients' psychiatric and behavioral health concerns.

Jane has extensive educational experience, having previously served as director of the undergraduate medical education (medical student) program in Duke's Department of Medicine for a decade, having founded and continuing to run the school's evidence-based medicine course, and serving as a small group instructor in two different courses in the medical school. For seven years she was vice chair for education in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, running continuing medical education programs in the department, and she served for a decade as a residency training director—a role that overlaps considerably not only with medical education but also with human resources and best practice for providing feedback and implementing opportunities for growth. She has additional clinical and administrative leadership experience.

From 2011 - 2025, Jane was an actively-involved MSR volunteer parent for her two sons.

Gina Space

Gina Space

Gina Space is the Chief Investment Officer for DW Associates LLC, a Tampa Bay area family office. Prior to her current career, she worked in government at the county and federal levels, as well as commercial real estate.

She has undergraduate degrees in mathematics and political science from Duke University and a Master’s of Public Administration from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

Gina and her husband are the proud parents of a lifetime Montessori child, who currently attends Carolina Prep. In her free time, Gina enjoys swimming on a master’s team (even with 5:30 a.m. practice!). She also loves to hear live music, watch almost any sport, and read fiction, including current favorite genres: Scandinavian crime novels and fantasy novels.

Organized with seven core strategic initiatives in mind, MSR & Carolina Prep ("the School") seeks to become a known leader in Montessori and International Baccalaureate education, offering excellent Montessori and International Baccalaureate education to its students, where connections are nurtured within the community, employees are supported and retained, facilities are safe and supportive to Montessori and International Baccalaureate education, and the School has a foundation by which to thrive into the future.
