Community & Belonging - Carolina Preparatory Academy Skip To Main Content

Carolina Prep celebrates community and belonging, and the unique partnership our families, students, faculty, administrators, and board of trustees share.

We believe that we are at our best when we are open to learning from one another and when we emphasize the wellbeing of each member of our community. We recognize the importance of fostering an environment that not only values academic achievement but also prioritizes the emotional and physical health of our students. Furthermore, we are dedicated to preparing students to consider new perspectives, examine their own beliefs, and respond respectfully to the ideas of others through our International Baccalaureate programming.

Guided by the tenets of peace education, central to International Baccalaureate curricula, we aim to create a holistic and supportive community where each individual can contribute to and benefit from a comprehensive approach to education and the role they play in the world around them.

Head of School Monica Rodriguez has led Carolina Prep and The Montessori School of Raleigh since July 2020. Visit the Head of School page to learn more.

The Board of Trustees are a group of parents, grandparents, alumni, and community members guiding the school's mission and long-term vision.
