Carolina Prep weaves teaching and practicing social and emotional learning skills into the International Baccalaureate curriculum. The heart of social and emotional learning at Carolina Prep involves the concepts of grace and courtesy, peace education, problem solving, and learning from the failures and triumphs that come from taking chances on new materials and situations.

Carolina Prep students are matched with an advisor who serves as a mentor and a trusted confidant–someone who is with them throughout their Carolina Prep journey.

During weekly Advisory meetings, students participate in social and emotional lessons designed by the school counselor and facilitated by their advisor.

Students engage with the #WinAtSocial program, tackling increasingly complex topics related to character-driven decision-making when using social media and technology.

We nurture student's social and emotional development so they can effectively navigate the many complexities of life with grace, courtesy, and peace at the heart of their actions.
