Bus Services

Route 1: Offered to the Carolina Prep campus from The Montessori School of Raleigh campus in the morning and to The Montessori School of Raleigh campus from the Carolina Prep campus in the afternoon.
Route 2: Offered to The Montessori School of Raleigh campus from the Carolina Prep campus in the morning and to the Carolina Prep campus from The Montessori School of Raleigh campus in the afternoon.
Family Discount Billing Details: If more than one child opts in for the bus services, the total fee bill to the family will be $1,725. The first child will be charged $1,150; the second child will be charged $575; the third and beyond child will be charged $0.

Bus routes will be limited. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once spots are filled, Carolina Prep will keep a waitlist of interested families and will fill any spots that open in order of families on the waitlist. For questions, please contact transportation@msr.org.

The School reserves the right to modify or discontinue bus service at any time if there is insufficient ridership to sustain the route(s). In the event a route is discontinued or not offered, families will be provided with advance notice.

Summer Camps

SummerScape at The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) offers engaging, hands-on experiences for children each week during the summer months.

NOTE: Available through separate registration process occurring each spring semester.

Parents and campers can choose from a wide array of half- and full-day sessions focused on the arts, STEM, athletics, enrichment, and more—all taught by experienced MSR teachers and other area experts. There’s something for everyone!

SummerScape registration is open to current MSR students ages 15 months to Grade 8, and non-MSR students age 4 years and older. Program offerings are updated each year, ensuring a variety of new options and fan-favorites for families to choose from.

Studios

Studios, MSR's after-school enrichment program, features a variety of themed activities and workshops engaging MSR students in sports, STEM, French language, theater, dance, pottery and more! Sessions are available for Children’s House through Upper Elementary and offered three times a year; fall, winter, and spring.

Tuition Assistance & Scholarships

Carolina Prep offers an array of opportunities for tuition assistance and scholarships. Carolina Prep also accepts Opportunity Scholarship funding.

Tuition Assistance

Carolina Prep is committed to supporting a student throughout their education journey at our school as long as there is demonstrated family financial need. Tuition assistance applications are made directly through Clarity. Clarity collects basic financial information on income, assets and liabilities, family size, siblings in tuition-based schools, and any special circumstances. The Carolina Prep Tuition Assistance Committee reviews this confidential information to determine a family’s eligibility for assistance. Students and families receiving assistance are also expected to respect the confidentiality of this information.

Timeline for Families

Clarity opens October 1 for new and returning families to submit their applications.
First consideration deadline for returning families is December 10; first consideration for new families is January 13.

If an award is accepted by the family (by means of enrolling at Carolina Prep), final tax documents must be submitted to Clarity on or before June 1.

The Montessori School of Raleigh reserves the right to review tax documentation and modify the tuition assistance award accordingly.

If the tax documents are not submitted by June 1, the tuition assistance award will be forfeited and voided.

Opportunity Scholarship

Rising Grade 9 Merit Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes an incoming grade 9 student who exhibits qualities of good character, potential for strong academic achievement, and a passion for some area of study in the sciences, humanities, the arts, or technology.

This scholarship funds $3,000 for grade 9, $4,000 for grade 10, and $5,000 a year for grades 11 and 12.

Rising Grade 11 IB Merit Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes an incoming grade 11 full IB Diploma Programme student who has a proven record of academic excellence, demonstrated involvement in student leadership, and exemplary character. This scholarship will fund $5,000 a year for the two years of the IB Diploma Programme.

Payment Options

The Financially Responsible Party ("FRP") must select one of the following three methods of paying the Comprehensive Fee by selecting one of the options below:

Option A | One-Time Payment

Option B | Semester

Option C | Monthly

Comprehensive Fee is paid in installments beginning on June 2 and ending March 2.

There is a 3% administrative fee on the Tuition Balance for this monthly plan.

All payments must be paid by the last day of the month in order for the student's account to remain current.

Enrollment in the Tuition Refund Protection Plan (TRPP) is required for Option C, with the TRPP fee due with the first payment.

Enrollment in Veracross AutoPay is required.

This refund policy sets out how Carolina Prep processes refunds when applicable.

Withdrawal Terms

Carolina Prep's program expenses, in large part, are budgeted and determined in advance of the start of the academic year. Accordingly, the withdrawal of the student does not materially reduce the expenses of the School.

The Financially Responsible Party, or "FRP," will be responsible for the following financial obligations if the student withdraws after executing the enrollment contract and:

Student is withdrawn on or before April 30: The "FRP" is responsible for the Non-Refundable Deposit and the Non-Refundable New Family Fee.
Student is withdrawn between May 1 and May 31: The "FRP" is responsible for the Non-Refundable Deposit, the Non-Refundable New Family Fee and $3,000.
Student is withdrawn on or after June 1, but before school starts: The "FRP" is responsible for the Non-Refundable Deposit, the Non-Refundable New Family Fee, and $5,000.
Once school starts, the "FRP" will be responsible for 100% of the Comprehensive Fee, unless the "FRP" has opted into the Tuition Refund Protection Plan (TRPP), in which case the provisions of TRPP will apply.
The School’s Tuition Refund Protection Plan (TRPP) provides protection from financial loss due to the unanticipated withdrawal of a student (required or voluntary) from the school or the program.

Studio Fees

To cancel or make changes to a Studio registration, a written request must be made to auxiliaryprograms@msr.org. Changes to registrations will automatically be charged a $25 administrative fee. This fee will be applied to all cancellations and session changes. Cancellation requests will receive the following refund based on when the request was made:

At least 30 days prior to the program's start date : FULL refund.
Twenty-nine or less days prior to the program's start date: NO refund plus the $25 administrative fee.

SummerScape Fees

To cancel or make changes to a SummerScape registration, a written request must be made to auxiliaryprograms@msr.org.

Changes to any registration, including cancellations, will automatically be charged a $25 administrative fee. This fee will be applied per request to all cancellations and session changes, or at MSR’s discretion.
Cancellation requests will receive the following refund based on when the request is made:
- On or before May 31, 2025—full refund, less the $25 administrative fee.
- On or after June 1, 2025—no refund will be issued and parents will be responsible for a $25 administrative fee.
